Mouthing can accompany fingerspelling, sometimes to disambiguate otherwise identical lexical items. public_car is an example of fingerspelling accompanied by mouthing. While signing publıc_car, D, the first letter of the Turkish word dolmuş 'public car' is accompanied by the mouthing /dolmuş/.
